At The Waters, we want our children fully engaged into the worship and sermon experience. We seek to keep all this precious information about God well within their reach. The Waters' Splash Note Sheets are one of the ways we accomplish this. At the beginning of every sermon, Clint, our Lead Pastor, invites the children to come up to the front to get their Splash Note Sheet. Clint will give little cues and pictures on the screen that pertain to the message. The children will then create drawings, copy words, and write parts of Bible verses to stay current with the message. They are encouraged from the beginning to end.
After service, the children are encouraged to walk down to our SplashTown building and get their picture taken with their Splash Note Sheet. The following week, Clint will recognize the best one from the week before. Just a little way of saying "good job" to the kids, and the parents!
The Waters' Splash Note Sheets... because kids make waves too!
Our mission is to save and disciple people in Jesus' name through Biblical learning and personal accountability.
Truth. Leadership. Family. Accountability. Generosity.
Leading people closer and closer to Jesus.
[Oldest of the known Christian Creeds…third century AD]
I believe in God the Father almighty and in Christ Jesus His only Son, our Lord, who was born from the Holy Spirit and the virgin Mary. Who under Pontius Pilate was crucified and buried, on the third day rose again from the dead. He ascended into heaven and sits at the right hand of the Father, whence He will come to judge the living and the dead, and in the Holy Spirit, the holy church, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the flesh.
The Bible is God's Word to humanity. It was written by human authors under the supernatural guidance of the Holy Spirit. It is the supreme source of truth for Christian beliefs and living. Because it is inspired by God it is the truth without any mixture of error or contradiction.
Salvation is God's free offering of full pardon and complete acceptance. This gift, however, is not a one-way thing. In order for it to work in one's life, it must be accepted...as it is with any gift. Salvation removes the burden of humanity's attempt to make up for its sin by self-improvement or good works. Only by trusting in Jesus Christ as God's offer of forgiveness can anyone be saved from sin's penalty. When we turn away from our self-ruled life and surrender to Jesus in faith, we are saved. Eternal life begins the moment a person trusts Jesus Christ for his salvation.
Jesus commands that all his followers should be baptized. Therefore, baptism is an act of obedience for all members of the family of God...including the members of The Waters Church. We believe that baptism is an act of obedience and evangelism. Christian baptism has a proper order to it. When a person becomes a Christian, one of the first acts of evangelical obedience is to tell that story through baptism. So it's becoming a Christian first, then being baptized. This is what is usually called "believer's baptism".
The act of baptism itself is not a saving act of grace or forgiveness. The act is a portrayal of the salvation that Jesus has applied to the life of the Christian. The water actually symbolizes dirt, as the entire act is symbolic of a burial and resurrection.
If a person has already been baptized in this order there is no need to be baptize again.
Since The Waters Church practices believer's baptism, we do not baptize infants.
Infant baptism is not supported in the Bible.
The duration of time between the act of becoming a Christian and getting baptized is entirely personal. However, we encourage new Christians to follow through with baptism soon.
We believe that baptism is a wonderful way of telling the story of your salvation. And for that reason, we do our baptisms outside as much as possible. This is an act designed to get people's attention. It's a powerful message to be acted out in the water.
