What is Splash?

Splash Children's Ministry exists for children aged birth through fifth grade to have a blast learning about Jesus in an environment that’s perfectly suited to their needs. Teachers and assistants are excited to have time with your kids playing and learning together. Take a look at the different age groups below for more information about your child’s Splash Children’s Ministry experience.

What we teach

In Splash Children’s Ministry, we use Group Publishing Company’s “Simply Loved” Curriculum where we help kids discover the joy of a friendship with Jesus.

Nursery: 0-24 Months

Infants and toddlers, aged birth through 24 months, are cared for by competent, trained volunteer team members in our nursery. To provide the consistency this age group needs, you will see the same lead teachers ministering to the children regularly upon your baby’s dropoff. Carefully-selected assistants also serve in this room to keep the ratio of adult-to-children at 1:2.

Preschool: 2-5 Years Old

In our preschool ministry, we want your kids to learn that God made them, God loves them, and Jesus wants to be their friend forever. Children ages 2-5 worship God and learn about the Bible in small groups — ages 2-3 years and ages 4-Pre-K. Parents drop-off their little ones at their classroom door before church begins and pick them up at the same place at the conclusion of service.

In the preschool class, we utilize fun crafts, activities, songs, videos, and games to support our memorable themes, verses and Bible stories. This age group is ministered to by consistent lead teachers and supported by a rotation of classroom assistants to keep the adult-to-child ratios low.

k-5th grade

Our big kids check-in before church begins and attend worship with their families in the main auditorium. At the end of worship, our elementary children are released to the lobby to be taken to their individual grade-level classes by their lead teachers and classroom assistants. For the remainder of the service, they are guided through an engaging Bible story and taught Biblical application with fun activities, cool videos, and interactive games with their peers. Parents pick-up their big kids at their grade level classroom door after church.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

  • Safety is of paramount importance to us. We do a full-scale background check on all volunteers and have systems in place to ensure that only safe adults and youth work with your children in Splash. Additionally, we have systems in place to ensure that children are only returned to their parents and guardians. While kids are in the Splash Children’s Ministry wing, only authorized personnel are permitted in that wing of the building.

We use the Planning Center Check-in System which will print a label for each child with a number that matches a label we give guardians. Children will only be released to an adult who has the corresponding security ticket to the child’s tag. Other children and teens (including siblings) may not pick up a child from the classroom, even with the security label.
